How To Care –

Gold plated Jewellery is made with a thin layer of gold coated on another metal like Brass. With proper care, you can extend the lifespan and get more wear out of your one gram gold jewellery and gold plated jewellery. It can’t be explained exactly how long it will last, it depends on how and when you wear it. The wearer’s skin pH also affects the plating. There are some people whose skin pH will cause the plating to wear down in limited days!

We know the question of How To Care One Gram Jewelry is with every one-gram jewellery user. We noticed the need for a post covering all the ways to protect and increase the life of your favourite jewellery.

The following points you should be careful about;

  • Keep jewellery in a plastic bag.
  • Avoid storing jewelery in cotton, velvet, rexine bags, boxes or cloth. The chemicals used in such boxes emit gas which harms your jewellery.
  • While wearing your favorite jewellery, avoid pulling on it as this will directly remove the protective coating and gold.
  • Do not let your jewellery come in contact with water, perfume, deo, soap, shampoo etc. When using perfume, follow this simple rule – wear last – open first.
  • Do not apply cream, lotion or perfume after wearing gold plated jewellery. Ingredients like oils, nail polish, nail polish remover, sprays, perfumes etc. can react with the metal used in plated jewellery and tarnish it easily.
  • Please do not keep your jewellery in the kitchen as cooking vapors accumulate on your jewellery and cause them to lose their shine.
  • Make sure that you do not forget to take off your gold plated jewellery when you exercise or do any work that requires heavy physical exertion as plating involves sweating.
  • Chlorine in water also reacts with metals so remove jewelry when bathing, swimming or washing hands.
  • Make sure to avoid plated bangles, bracelets and necklaces rubbing against each other.
